Pro Tips
- Do not double up underlayment beneath flooring that already has an attached pad (common with SPC and some laminate products). Double underlayment causes the joints to flex and fail prematurely.
- Overlap seams by 2-3" and seal with the manufacturer-recommended seam tape for a continuous moisture barrier, especially over concrete subfloors.
- The subfloor must be flat to within 3mm over 1 metre (3/16" over 6 feet). Underlayment compensates for minor irregularities, but it cannot bridge dips, humps, or significant unevenness.

Do I need underlayment with SPC flooring?
