Pro Tips
- SPC flooring with a factory-attached underlayment pad does not require additional underlayment. Adding a second layer causes joint flex and premature failure. Check whether Element Plus has an attached pad before purchasing separate underlayment.
- SPC rigid core flooring is dimensionally stable and requires less expansion gap than laminate. Follow the manufacturer's specific gap recommendation -- typically 6-8mm.
- The ceramic bead coating resists scratches from pet claws and chair legs better than standard vinyl wear layers. However, felt pads under heavy furniture are still recommended to prevent indentation.

What does SPC mean?
SPC stands for Stone Polymer Composite. The core is made from a limestone-polymer blend that is completely waterproof, dimensionally stable, and significantly more rigid than standard LVP (luxury vinyl plank). It will not expand, contract, or curl with temperature and humidity changes.
What is a 12-mil wear layer?
The wear layer is the clear protective coating on top of the decorative print. 12 mil (0.3mm) is suitable for residential use and light commercial traffic. Higher-traffic commercial spaces typically require 20+ mil. For most Canadian homes, 12 mil provides excellent long-term durability.
